Twisted Mom Enjoying Discipline

When I walked in to the kitchen last Friday and found this,

I inquired of my daughter what was she doing?

Jesi informed me that she was making a chocolate cake, to which I assured her that she was not. She insisted that she was and stubbornly tried to push past me with a tablespoon of water to dump in to her concoction.

After tossing the spoon in the sink I informed my self- acclaimed chef that she was going to have a time out.

She stubbornly folded her arms and glared, so I (being brilliant!) grabbed her arm and started to pull her towards our time out spot.

Jesi dug her heels in and declared, "I'm strong; I'm strong; I'm strong!"

I don't know why, but I secretely found this funny and before I burst in to laughter decided on a different approach.

"Hmmm let me think," I calmly wondered aloud. "What can I ground you from? Our family movie tonight or maybe..."

Low and behold she magically ran to the time out spot, only to stand there and screach, "I hate time outs! I hate them!"

"You must love time outs," I smilingly drawled, patiently and gleefully re-setting the timer with each rant. Of course, in the end, I won.

**Am I the only mother who occassionally enjoys discipline?
